The local organizers of CEPRA are delighted to inform you that the CEPRA/NBER Workshop on Ageing and Health will start on June 2 at 08.30, with welcome and registration, to finish at 13.30 of June 3. The Workshop program includes ten plenary sessions and a round table discussion on how to publish in top journals run by Professor Amitabh Chandra, Harvard Kennedy School.
A social event with hike to the Lugano lake’s surroundings is also scheduled starting around 15.30 of June 2, and participants that would like to join are suggested to take hiking or running shoes.
Considering the schedule, participants are expected to arrive on June 1. CEPRA will pay up to three nights at Hotel Seegarten (http://www.hotellido-lugano.com/it/13/hotel.aspx), where a Welcome drink is planned on June 1, at 21.00.
We kindly ask you to communicate us as soon as possible whether you plan to leave after the end of the Workshop on Saturday, June 3, or you plan to stay until Sunday, June 4, so that we can book your room for two or three nights.
CEPRA will reimburse economy-class advance-purchase airfares for your travel, with the following limits:
- €500 for participants traveling from Europe;
- $1000 for participants traveling from East coast US;
- $1600 for participants traveling from West coast US.
How to reach Lugano
The closest major airport is Milano Malpensa (MXP, to not confound with Milano Linate) that is connected by a shuttle bus to Lugano (main train station) roughly every hour. The Campus can be then reached on foot (20-25 minutes) or by bus or taxi from Lugano's main train station.
There is also a small city airport located in the city of Agno (about 6 Km from Lugano's city centre). It offers direct-flight connections to most of the main Swiss cities and some European airports. In particular for those traveling from the US, a flight to Lugano Airport via Zurich with Swiss Air might be the most comfortable option (https://www.swiss.com/switzerland/en/lugano-airport.html).
